Chalikounas - seclusion and comfort in one
Chalikounas Beach is an amazing long, sandy beach right next to Issos Beach. It has both organized and unorganized parts, so there's something for everyone. The organized part is a great option if you're looking for a bit of luxury. For just 8€ per day, you can enjoy the comfort of sunbeds and umbrellas. Or, if you prefer, you can opt for the unorganized part, where you'll have complete privacy.
For families with children
The sand is great for building castles and the gradual entry into the sea without strong waves makes it safe even for smaller children. It's easy to get to by car, with parking right next to it. The water is shallow for a long time and you have to walk quite a distance to be able to swim, which again is very suitable for children.
The organized part is in the middle, right behind the parking lot. It's quite big and it's not one of the most visited beaches, so it definitely won't be crowded. It is surrounded by sand dunes and greenery to the north, creating a picturesque and relaxing environment. However, there are no tavernas directly on the beach, but there is one located about 500 meters behind it.

If you're looking for the unorganised parts, you'll find them on both sides. We loved the southern part. The scenery was just so beautiful. The sand dunes in this part are stunning and look incredible, either from the sea or when you're lounging on the sand.

Lake Korisson
Nearby Lake Korission, a protected wetland area, provides excellent opportunities for birdwatching. Many species of birds, including flamingos and herons, can be seen in this area, making it a nature lover's paradise. We were lucky enough to see a huge number of flamingos, which were just trying to catch their lunch.

An excellent tavern where you can have lunch is Chalikounas Spiros. Unfortunately, it is not directly on the beach and you have to walk 1,3 kilometers to it. However, you will find fantastic home-cooked food and a great atmosphere. There is only one closer, but it didn't impress us much.
