The most beautiful beaches of Cyprus
29. September 2024Beautiful sculptures and nature
Sculpture Park in Ayia Napa is a unique place that combines art with the beauty of nature. Located in a picturesque setting overlooking the sea, this outdoor park features fascinating sculptures by both local and international artists.
With the nearby Bridge of Love, the park is an ideal destination for an early evening stroll after a day at the beach. Stop by Sculpture Park and enter a world of sculptures that come to life as the sun sets.
Sculpture Park
Entrance to the park is free and unlimited. As soon as you enter, you will find yourself in a kingdom where mythological scenes are combined with modern abstract art.

One of the first statues you will see is the “Birth of Aphrodite”. Since you are in Cyprus, such a depiction is not to be missed.
Modern art lovers will enjoy works such as “Tree of Life”, “Heart of Love”, “Head in the Clouds” or “Journey into the Unknown” – they are a must-see.

Martin and I don’t really understand modern art, so we focused more on mythological scenes, such as the statue of Gaia holding Zeus in her arms.

A meaningful part of the park is the “Dreaming Through the Ages” sculpture, which symbolizes the desires and dreams of people throughout history. It reflects that dreams and aspirations have been a part of every era and culture.

I was thrilled by the statue of the sleeping Odysseus, because Homer’s Odyssey is one of my favorite books.

Originality reigns supreme in this place
Originality truly reigns here. Moreover, the “Stone and its History” sculpture stands out as a one-of-a-kind piece, featuring wooden carvings that beautifully illustrate the passage of time. In addition, the stone itself symbolizes a timeless element, enduring through various eras and events, and ultimately representing countless phases of evolution.

The highlight for both of us was the artificial water channel on which the Argonauts’ boat was sailing. Iason, Medea and the goddess Athena have their statues here.

There was even a little mermaid who always steals my glasses in the sea and adds them to her collection. This time, I gave them to her with ease.

Everything here is truly beautiful, and no matter your taste in art, there’s something for everyone. If you visit in the early evening, like we did, the sculptures glow in the warm light of the setting sun, making the experience even more magical. However, our only regret was promising the kids an early dinner, so we had just 30 minutes to explore. I’d definitely suggest setting aside at least an hour for your visit – you won’t be disappointed!
Bridge of Love
Bridge of Love is right next door. It’s a place that attracts couples in love from all over the world. With its unique natural appearance, it blends harmoniously into its surroundings and offers breathtaking views of the sea and nature.

Moreover, the romantic atmosphere combined with the breathtaking sunsets you can witness from the bridge creates truly unforgettable moments. Additionally, the local legends of love and romance lend a special charm to this place, making it even more captivating.
Couples often take their wedding photos here and maybe, like us, you will meet a happy bride. No wonder why the place is so popular and a symbol of eternal love.

Nearby is the iconic statue of butterfly wings, which symbolise love, freedom and transformation. Butterflies often represent new beginnings and personal transformations, which perfectly complement the romantic atmosphere of the place. While the bridge symbolizes eternal love and shared moments, the butterfly wings suggest that love can also be about personal growth and freedom.
