6. August 2021Lido Rosello – beach and view of Scala dei Turchi
After visiting the iconic Scala dei Turchi, mesmerised by its beauty, we searched for a place to relax, cool off, and maybe take a swim. Though the rock formation looks inviting, swimming there isn’t ideal. The terrain is slippery, the beach is small, and the waters unpredictable. So, we hopped in the car, and just minutes later, we found ourselves parking at Lido Rosello, ready to enjoy its welcoming shores.
This beach lies just around the corner, barely five minutes’ drive from Scala dei Turchi. Just as we arrived, the view immediately caught our attention. The white rock formation remained within sight, now from a different perspective, revealing its full scale and majesty. While standing atop the cliffs, the atmosphere felt dramatic and raw, but down here on the beach, everything slowed down. Warm golden sand, a gentle breeze, the calm surface of the sea. Everything here radiates a perfect sense of tranquillity.

Beach ideal for children
Soft, light sand stretches across the beach, perfect for bare feet and building sandcastles. Meanwhile, crystal-clear, shallow water invites peaceful swims, making it easy to relax. Extending both wide and long, the shoreline feels remarkably spacious. Even on a sunny day in peak season, there’s plenty of room for towels, umbrellas, and quiet moments away from bustling crowds. As a result, the atmosphere remains calm and inviting.

Several beach bars and restaurants are scattered nearby, making it easy to enjoy the day with nothing more than a towel in hand. We sipped on coffee, some of us indulged in the local granita, and simply sat on the terrace, watching children play in the sand. In the distance, the brilliant white cliffs of Scala dei Turchi stood out against the horizon, their striking beauty ever present.

Children finally had the chance to build sandcastles and chase each other through the shallow waters. Leaving the beach was the last thing on their minds — and honestly, on ours too. When we finally climbed into the car, there was a deep sense that the day had been perfect. All that remained was the hope that another stunning, crowd-free beach awaited us somewhere along the coast.
